About The clan

Here's all my friends and acquaintances who make what I do fun and enjoyable. I've given them each an account to help me with my website and blog, but I don't think they've accessed it yet. Either way, me being the best friend in the world, I'll give them credit anyway.

Anthony

The Boss

My name is Anthony Clirk, and I am twelve years old, which is basically the perfect age to be brilliant, mysterious, and extremely impressive. I have a creative imagination, which means I can see amazing possibilities where other people only see boring reality. Some people might say I exaggerate. Those people are usually jealous. I’m pretty sure everybody likes me, or at least they would if they spent more time appreciating how interesting I am. I’m the kind of person people naturally want to be around, mostly because I have excellent ideas, heroic instincts, and a face that probably belongs on a book cover someday. Life is not always easy when you’re as talented as I am, but I manage. Whether I’m inventing stories, imagining adventures, or explaining why I’m clearly the most important person in the room, I try to stay humble. Well, as humble as someone like me can reasonably be.

Ben

My Bestest Friend

Ben has been my best friend since kindergarten, which means he has had the privilege of knowing me longer than almost anyone. Some people search their whole lives for a friend as interesting, brave, and naturally important as me, but Ben got lucky early. Ben is a pretty good guy. He has brown hair, a red shirt he wears a lot, and the kind of quiet personality that works well beside someone more exciting. Like me. I think that is why our friendship works so perfectly. Ben is calm, and I am inspiring. Ben is practical, and I am full of incredible ideas. Ben usually says things like, “Sure, Anthony,” or “I guess,” which I can tell means he is amazed by whatever brilliant thing I just said. We have been through a lot together, mostly because Ben follows me into situations that become much more interesting once I am involved. He pretends to be annoyed sometimes, but that is just our friendship language. Deep down, I am almost certain Ben thinks I am the greatest thing since sliced bread. Maybe even better, because sliced bread never saved anyone from boredom. Ben may not always say how lucky he is to be my best friend, but he does keep hanging around me, which honestly says everything.

Ally

Ben's Sister

Ally is Ben’s little sister, which means she has spent a lot of time near greatness by being around me. She is friendly, helpful, and usually much nicer than Ben, especially when Ben is doing his whole “Anthony, please stop talking” routine. Ally has one of those personalities that makes people feel better just by being around her. She likes helping people, cheering them up, and making sure everyone is okay, which is probably why she pays so much attention to me. Some people might say she is just being kind because that is who she is, but I have my own theories. I’m pretty sure Ally secretly likes me. Not in an obvious way, of course. She is very subtle. For example, sometimes she smiles when I say something incredibly smart, or she asks if I am okay after one of my brilliant plans goes slightly wrong. That is basically the same as admitting it, if you understand romance and emotional signals as well as I do. She is also very cute, which makes the whole situation a little complicated, because I am too shy and mysterious to do anything about it. For now, I will continue being impressive from a respectful distance and allow Ally to admire me quietly. It is probably easier for her that way.

Melissa

Ben's Girlfriend

Melissa is Ben’s girlfriend, which is interesting because I’m pretty sure she secretly likes me too. I do not want to make things awkward for Ben, of course, because he is my best friend and probably already feels a little nervous living in my shadow. Still, facts are facts, and Melissa has looked directly at me several times with an expression that could only mean one thing: deep emotional confusion. Melissa is possibly the most serious person I have ever met. In all the years I have known her, I do not think I have ever seen her crack a smile. Not once. Not even a tiny one. This has to be some kind of world record. Scientists should probably study her face to understand how someone can keep that level of unenthusiasm going for so long. Her father runs the biggest business in town and wants to be mayor someday, which probably explains why Melissa is so cheerful and full of sunshine. That was sarcasm, in case anyone missed it. She always looks like she is judging everyone, especially me, but I have learned that some people hide their admiration behind cold silence and disappointed staring. Deep down, I think Melissa respects me. Maybe even more than respects me. But because she is dating Ben, and because I am an honorable person with a complicated emotional life, I will pretend not to notice. For now.

Kyle

My younger bro

Kyle is my younger brother, which means I have known him for his entire life. Not by choice, obviously. He just sort of appeared one day and then never left. Kyle is awkward. Very awkward. He has this weird way of smiling where you cannot tell if he is happy, nervous, or planning something strange. Somehow, despite this, he thinks he is a bit of a ladies’ man. I do not fully understand it, but Kyle seems confident in his own confusing way, which I suppose runs in the family. Obviously, I have the better version of confidence. The most annoying thing about Kyle is that he is always taking the family bike on my scheduled days. Everyone knows schedules are important, especially when they involve me. But Kyle will just take it like the rules are more of a suggestion, and then I am left standing there, bike-less, betrayed, and forced to walk like a regular person. Still, Kyle is my brother, so what are you going to do? He is awkward, annoying, and constantly in the way, but I guess there are worse people to be related to. Probably. I have not done a full study.
